Malath is an independent civil and humanitarian initiative led by a feminist practice in cultural production, research, and participatory work. It operates at the intersection of memory, storytelling, human rights, creative expression, and knowledge grounded in lived experience.<\/p>

Malath emerged from the violence witnessed in Suwayda in July 2025 and the violations against civilians that followed, events that deeply affected the human conscience. Yet Malath did not take shape simply as a response to a single event. It gradually developed into a long-term commitment to human dignity and into an ongoing effort to develop new ways of preserving experiences, producing culture, and creating spaces in which people can speak, create, and participate in shaping the narratives about their own lives.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Malath works through visual and narrative documentation, artistic and cultural projects, research and writing, design, and participatory creative processes. Our practice is not limited to producing final works; we are equally interested in the paths, relationships, and environments through which those works come into being.<\/p>

We believe that people are not merely subjects of documentation, and that memory is not simply a fixed material to be preserved. Memory is a living process that people can participate in shaping, interpreting, and transmitting. We therefore seek to develop practices that make lived experience a source of knowledge, and art a space for expression, experimentation, and the rebuilding of relationships and meaning.<\/p>

Malath began in Suwayda, but its work extends beyond any single place. We are interested in what happens when memory intersects with violence, when technology intersects with human relationships, and when creativity intersects with knowledge and lived experience.<\/p>
