Artist<\/span>\u00a0Sara Abu Assaf chose to confront loss in her own way.<\/p>

To draw \u2014 not to decorate memory, but to protect it from disappearance.<\/p>

Within a humanitarian art project she is currently developing, Sara began portraying the faces of those Sweida lost during the events of last July, attempting to grant them another form of presence \u2014 one that cannot be reduced to numbers or breaking news headlines, but remains alive within memory and collective feeling.<\/p>

The first was Tala Al-Shoufi.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

features as calm as a morning breeze, carrying in her eyes the innocence of childhood and a depth that is not easily forgotten \u2014 that was Tala Al-Shoufi, Her faint smile resembles light passing gently through trees, offering whoever sees it a quiet sense of reassurance without the need for words.\nIn her presence there was a beautiful simplicity, and in her absence an enduring trace \u2014 as though she were a brief story that nevertheless remained long within the heart.<\/p>

In last July, while Sweida endured its harshest days, Tala was simply a child dreaming of life, carrying her books and her small hopes.\n\nBut she was taken by a stray bullet during the events that struck the city, while she was with her family trying to survive\u2026 and her life was stolen before her story could be completed.<\/span><\/p>

She left, yet her spirit continues to whisper in memory, leaving behind a beauty that cannot be erased.
