Some events leave behind more questions than answers.

In<\/span>\u00a0one July day,<\/span>houses in Sweida woke up to something entirely unexpected.

We heard of girls and women who were harmed, of abductions\u2026 and of losses that cannot be easily explained.<\/span><\/p>

I did not understand everything that happened, but I felt that something had broken.<\/span><\/p>

Fear was no longer distant. It had moved closer \u2014 into our homes, and closer still to us.<\/span><\/p>

What unfolds in moments like these is never just an isolated incident, <\/span>It reveals something deeper:<\/span><\/p>

When a woman\u2019s body becomes a target \u2014 not as a human being, but as a means.<\/span><\/p>

In wars, <\/span>it is not only land that is targeted. Bodies are targeted too. Fear is used as a weapon, and the body becomes a surface onto which violence is inscribed.<\/span><\/p>

I have often heard grand words like \u201chonor\u201d and \u201cprotection,\u201d <\/span>but I never understood why the body is made to carry such weight \u2014 as though what happens to it defines a person\u2019s entire worth.<\/span><\/p>

I do not understand everything, but I feel that a human being is far greater than that.<\/span><\/p>

Pain that begins in one home does not remain there. It spreads, becoming a collective atmosphere that reshapes how we see life and safety.<\/span><\/p>

There are things that are not visible, yet they remain \u2014 inside those who lived them.<\/span><\/p>

And they continue.<\/span><\/p>

But what I want to say, in a quiet voice, is this:<\/span><\/p>

The body is not a battlefield. It is not a tool for harming others. It is not a measure of anyone\u2019s value.<\/span><\/p>

A human being deserves to live in safety \u2014 without fear, and without having their body turned into a message in someone else\u2019s war.<\/span><\/p>

This is not a story of one place or one moment. It is something that happens in many places, <\/span>whenever women are made to pay a price that was never theirs to bear.<\/span><\/p>
